About Bijou Baby
Welcome to Bijou Baby. My name is Hayley and I created Bijou Baby after having my daughter in 2021.
When we found out we were expecting our little one in 2020 I immediately started researching the best products we needed. I was obsessed with making sure we were getting the safest products possible.
One of these items was our car seat. I spent ages researching, learning about crash testing and different brands and thought I knew everything I needed to know about car seat safety. Along came our bundle of joy and suddenly I realised, although I was confident we had a good seat, I didn’t really know how to put her in it safely, or if she really fit in it at all.
At a Tiny 5lb8oz I was quite anxious about the fit, but after asking a number of medical professionals if she looked like she was in right I felt confident all was good.
From here I started doing more research and this is when I discovered that despite all of my research this far, I didn’t know anything about car seat safety. I went on to spend a lot of feeding time just reading and learning, watching videos and reviews and finding out as much as possible.
This is when it hit me, that our tiny little baby was not fitted correctly to our seat at all.
This is how I discovered just how limited car seat safety awareness and support around it is, and that was the point I decided I had to do something about it. And so the idea of Bijou Baby was born. A business to provide car seat safety awareness and to support and guide families to ensure they have the opportunity to get the best and safest car seats for their specific circumstances and budgets.

Although we do sell products, the advice and support provided is not specific to these items and if one of our products is not the right fit for your needs, we will be sure to guide you to a suitable item elsewhere.
There is no shaming or disapproval here at Bijou Baby. We are here to educate, support and assist.

What does the future look like for Bijou Baby?
For now we are working on establishing our brand and getting the word out there about car seat safety. The future on the other hand is BIG for Bijou Baby.
We are working towards becoming a not-for-profit organisation, continuing all of the car seat safety work we are already doing whilst also offering additional support to the local community through parent and child groups, safe play spaces, mental health support and much, much more. So watch this space as we expand our business and add more community support.
We have already branched out to reusable nappies and we are working to add slings and carriers to the mix too. But one thing is for sure, we will only be selling items we believe in!
Where are we based?
Our main showroom is based in Hedge End, Southampton SO302QT and we also offer at home appointments in the following locations,
- – within 40 miles of SO302QT (all of Hampshire and parts os Sussex, Dorset, Wiltshire, Berkshire Surrey)
- – Isle of Wight (covering all areas)
- – within 30 miles of BN125LD (covering most of Sussex)
